Auratherapy is the world’s first premium aura wellness and conscious aromatherapy brand, and its home is Asheville. For Taste of Wellness Asheville 2026, we spotlighted a local brand built around a simple idea: when you understand your energy, you can live with more intention every day.

What Aura Wellness Means

Auratherapy is built around the power of the aura and guided by the proprietary Auratherapy Method. Through personalized experiences, intentional rituals, and premium products, the brand helps people better understand themselves and transform the way they live, feel, and connect.

The aura is the starting point. Auratherapy uses aura imaging technology to capture a visual image of a Guest’s aura. A Certified Auratherapist then translates it into Personalized Aura Insights: a clearer picture of your energy in this moment, and how it might shape your day.

Conscious aromatherapy is how that awareness becomes practice. Auratherapy’s blends are designed to be used with intention, turning a moment of fragrance into a daily ritual. The brand calls this Perfume with Purpose. Fragrance isn’t an accessory here. It’s part of how you show up for yourself.

Together, the aura and the ritual form a complete practice: a way to see your energy and a way to work with it every day.

An Asheville Story

Auratherapy’s Asheville story begins with its founder. Laura McCann, Founder & CEO, spent 30 years in New Jersey & New York City while raising her kids, and the Blue Ridge Mountains were calling the whole time. Laura was born in Miami and raised in Paris. She also had family ties to western North Carolina, where her father spent half of each year, and every visit drew her in further.

In 2016, she moved to Asheville. “When the time was right, and it never really is, I made the leap of faith,” she has written. “Asheville is the place I came to to bring the parts of me together that were separate: Love, Work and Family.”

Asheville’s entrepreneurial community helped the brand grow. Laura went through Mountain BizWorks’ Scale Up Bootcamps and Venture Asheville’s Elevate program, and took part in NC IDEA’s SOAR Triangle program for women entrepreneurs. Auratherapy was named Small Business of the Year by the Western Women’s Business Center. In 2019, Laura was selected as a Tory Burch Fellow.

11-11, November 11th 2020, Auratherapy opened its first Studio in downtown Asheville’s historic Grove Arcade. It opened the city’s first aura reading studio. They combined aura and chakras, and aromatherapy and it turned out to be a glimpse of the future. Guests came to see their auras, and the aura became the heart of the brand.

The Auratherapy Method

Every Auratherapy Experience and product is guided by the Auratherapy Method, a five-step practice:

• Discover. Gain greater awareness through Personalized Aura Insights.
• Practice. Transform awareness into intentional daily rituals through conscious aromatherapy.
• Transform. Meaningful change happens through consistency, not intensity.
• Repeat. As life changes, energy changes. Continue discovering, practicing, evolving.
• Vibrate Higher. Living at a higher frequency is not a destination; it is the ongoing expression of the practice.

The Method describes a practice, not a required path. Most Guests begin with a reading. Some already know what they want to work on and start with the Collection instead. The reading is always offered and never a requirement.

The Experiences

Each of Auratherapy’s signature Experiences is led by a Certified Auratherapist and includes an Aura & Chakra Reading.

The Aura Reveal™ is the entry point: a 20-minute Experience that pairs a visual image of your aura with Personalized Aura Insights.

The Aura Blueprint™ goes deeper over 30 minutes. It adds ritual cards and scent strips, so Guests leave ready to build a daily practice around what they’ve discovered.

The Aura Activation™ is the 50-minute Founder’s Experience with Jim Levinson, Chief Auratherapist – Founder, Co-Founder. It brings together an Aura & Chakra Reading, energy healing, ritual cards, and scent strips for Guests ready to explore their energy in its fullest form.

Aura wellness is for the whole family, too. The Youth Aura Reveal™ welcomes Guests ages 8 to 17 with parent or legal guardian consent. The Pet Aura Reveal™ lets four-legged family members join in.

The Collection

For Guests who already know what they’re looking for, the Collection is a way in on its own. Shopping the Studio feels a little like visiting an apothecary. You choose a blend for what you want to bring into your day and begin your practice from there.

Discovery Kits make that first step easy. The Chakra Perfume Oil Discovery Kit, Aura Spray Discovery Kit, and Aroma Perfume Discovery Kit each offer a curated introduction to the blends. Every product is handcrafted in Asheville, vegan, and certified cruelty free by Leaping Bunny.

Hospitality at the Heart

Auratherapy approaches every Studio visit as hospitality first: a warm welcome, unhurried time, and space to be curious. That spirit extends beyond the Studio through Vibe & Glow®, the brand’s community and events platform, which brings people together around energy and intentional practice.

Now the Asheville Studio is preparing for its next chapter. Auratherapy will soon move to a new bigger space across the hall sometime early 2027 with the same aura-first welcome at its center.

Auratherapy at Taste of Wellness Asheville 2026

Taste of Wellness Asheville’s motto, “Many paths. One experience.”, is a natural fit for Auratherapy. There’s more than one way to begin, and every path starts with awareness. On Saturday, October 24, 2026, Auratherapy offered Aura Reveal Experiences at a special event rate of $50, an easy way for Asheville to see their auras for the first time.
