A: I'm a pharmacist who took my journey of medicine to a more ancient compound... salt. I had been to a salt cave in Asheville and waiting over 10 years for one to open in Charlotte, and when it hadn't happened, I decided to take the plunge and open one. Salt & Souls mission is to provide an immersive and relaxing experience that heals the physical body and nurtures the soul.

Q: Tell us a little bit about you, your company and your company's mission.
-
Q: What is your superpower? Tell us about a moment you recall that your superpower served you?
A: My superpower is groundedness. I love to root. Anchor down. Sit in the calm. I can't recall a specific moment it has served me. It's like a daily serving. Because I also overthink, being able to stay grounded, or quickly get back to grounding helps.

Q: What are your rituals for self-care, healing or de-stressing? Is there a special place you go?
A: I try to listen to what my body needs at different moments. The mind body awareness is hard to stay tapped into as the world keeps us preoccupied in being busy. My favorite ritual for self-care is obviously a 45 minute salt room session, to lay on the salt, feel it with my hands, and relax. But, before I venture into "work", I love a morning meditation, which always includes an aura therapy room boost spray (whichever I'm "feeling" I want), followed by a cup of hot tea or golden milk. This eases me into the day. I either do this in my bedroom, a bonus room we have that is my safe space, or outside (depending on weather and if the sprinkler ran that morning!- I like to get my feet on the ground). I'm lucky to be at a space like Salt & Souls everyday. It's difficult to stay stressed in this space.

Q: In which Chakra do you most identify and why?
A: Solar Plexus. I think I identify with it because this is what drives me...and what I'm always drawn to. It's also where I've learned boundaries from. To cover that space when talking to people I don't want to zap my energy or latch on. Sometimes I feel it's my breath and battery for the day. BUT, I'm most comfortable in my root. That is my peace. To be so grounded I don't move. Which is why solar plexus is always driving me.
