This Mother’s Day, Let’s Honor the Mother in All of Us

Mother’s Day brings up so many feelings.
For some, it’s a joyful celebration.
For others, it’s tender. Complicated. Even painful.
But no matter your relationship to the word “mother,” the truth is this:
We all mother.
We all carry the energy of nurturing, protecting, and tending.
And we all need to be mothered—sometimes by others, and sometimes by ourselves.
This year, let’s broaden the frame. Let’s honor the mother in all of us.
Mothering as an Energetic Blueprint
Before we learn to speak, we learn to receive care. That care—or its absence—imprints our Root Chakra (safety), Sacral Chakra (emotional attunement), and Heart Chakra (love and connection).
“Mothering energy lives in the field. It anchors us in belonging, regulates our emotions, and opens our hearts. You don’t have to have a child to carry it. You carry it because you were once a child who needed it.”— Laura McCann
Our aura carries the story of how we were nurtured. It also tells the story of how we nurture others: children, partners, animals, teams, dreams, and even ideas.
Mothering is energy, not a role.
The Chakras of Mothering
Root Chakra (Chakra 1) – This is where mothering begins: in the need for safety, stability, and presence. The aura of a grounded mother figure says, “You are safe here. You belong.”
Sacral Chakra (Chakra 2) – The center of emotional connection and empathy. When we attune to someone else’s feelings, when we mirror them with care, we are mothering.
Heart Chakra (Chakra 4) – The space of compassion, unconditional love, and healing. This is where we hold others softly—without needing to fix or control. Just love.
When these chakras are balanced, your aura radiates nurturing energy. When they’re depleted, you may feel disconnected, resentful, exhausted, or emotionally overextended.
That’s why self-mothering is a vital practice. You can’t pour endlessly without tending your own well.
This Mother’s Day, Consider This…
•If you are a mother or grandmother, we see you. Your energy is woven into every home, every meal, every lesson, every boundary, every embrace.
•If you are missing your mother, grieving, or healing from a complicated maternal bond, you are not alone. Let your Root Chakra hold you.
•If you are a caregiver, teacher, mentor, or friend, your presence matters. Every time you show up with empathy, you are mothering the world.
•If you are trying to become a mother, or have chosen not to, you are still part of this sacred lineage of care. Your energy is enough.
Mothering Rituals to Support Your Energy Field
Mothering is sacred. But it can also be exhausting. Here’s how to refill your own cup:
Chakra 1 (Vitality) or Chakra 2 (Passion) Roll-Ons: Support your lower chakras with warming essential oils that create safety and emotional ease.
Blissful Aura Spray: A heart-expanding mist that softens the field and invites joy and openness.
Tranquility Perfume Oil: When the nervous system is maxed out, this calming blend helps restore balance.
Self-Mothering Check-In: Ask yourself: “What would I give a child in this moment?” Then offer it to yourself: water, rest, a hug, permission to feel.
Wear Earthy or Soft Colors: Reds, oranges, pinks, and soft greens all support the energy centers of mothering. Surround yourself with color that calms and connects.
Let the Aura Remember Love
You don’t have to do it perfectly.
You don’t have to carry it all.
You don’t have to “earn” rest or love or praise.
Your aura already remembers how to mother—and how to be mothered.
Sometimes the most powerful thing you can do is slow down, place your hand on your heart, and whisper: “I’m here. I see you. I’ve got you.”
That’s mothering too.
